Abstract

Developing STEM Education is currently the essential path for teacher training process in Thai Nguyen University, resulting in the question of "How to train the teachers in order to meet the requirements of the education renovation and reformation in Vietnam". This article provides an insight view of the training course "Designing and Organizing STEM-oriented experimental activities for Physics teachers in Thai Nguyen University of Education". The experimental activities was conducted in 01 year, from July 12th, 2016 to August 15th, 2017 with 255 participants. The results of the research suggested that it is possible to develop the ability of designing and organizing experimental activities for Physics students following 7 steps below: (1) Present the aim of the study to the students, (2) Review the literature of STEM - oriented, experiment - oriented teaching methods, (3) Select the topics for STEM - oriented experimental activities, (4) Discuss & Consult, (5) Implement the activities with high school students, (6) Analyze the results of the activities & Amend the designed topics, & (7) Adjust teaching/ training procedure to advance the training results (with the percentage of good and excellent students are about 77%).
