UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE OF MACROPHAGE IN THE CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY
About this article
Published: 27/04/18Abstract
Macrophages are immune cells that appear in large numbers in the microenvironment of the tumor; at the beginning macrophages stimulate tumor growth by supporting the formation of blood vessels to take up the nutrient sources of the healthy cells. However, when appropriate stimulation appears, the macrophages will destroy tumor. Thus, effort has been made to increase the effectiveness of macrophage tumor attacks by designing Fc fragments for stronger link with Fc receptors, using co-specific antibodies, they bind to antigens on tumor cells and receptors on macrophages and design antibody-drug conjugates.
