Abstract

To promote the implementation of STEM education in high schools, in recent years, Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training has organized many seminars and issued many documents guiding the implementation of STEM education in schools. However, the implementation of STEM education is still limited. In particular, teachers are facing difficulties in designing lesson plans following STEM education. This research is to propose the process of designing lesson plans following STEM education to facilitate the teachers. The study proposed a process of designing lessons following STEM education which can give the teachers background to design lessons by themselves. The study was conducted by the method of collecting expert opinions combined with the pedagogical experimental method.  The research results show that the process to design lessons includes 6 steps: (1) Study the Official Dispatch 3089/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated August 14, 2020 of Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training; (2) Study lesson plan illustration; (3) Design the lesson plan framework; (4) Present the detailed teaching plan; (5) Evaluate the lesson plan; (6) Edit and complete the lesson plan. Research results can be extended to different topics in teaching STEM subjects.
