Abstract

Black bamboo has the scientific name Phyllostachys nigra Lodd.Munro belonging to the family Poaceae. In Vietnam, Black bamboo has a natural distribution in a number of provinces across the country, including Ha Giang and Lao Cai provinces. The purpose of research on the regeneration characteristics of Black Bamboo to find out propagation methods. Conducted research using the following methods: Professional solution; participatory rural assessment method (PRA) and field investigation to determine the regeneration characteristics of black bamboo distributed in the wild. The results of the study on natural regeneration characteristics of Black bamboo in two provinces show that Black bamboo has the ability to regenerate well by the form of underground stem and underground body (whip). The trunk (whip) grows from the trunk of the tree trunk, with 3-5 sleeping eyes, the most birth is 5 underground body. The underground trunk (whip) has a length of about 110-380cm, divided into many slang by slang (ranging from 54-79 slang). On internodes with sleeping eyes, the number of sleeping eyes corresponds to the number of slugs, in the spring crop (from March to May), the eyes are dormant and produce shoots, and the shoots grow into a new Black Bamboo tree. Thus, black bamboo can propagate from the underground trunk of the trunk and the underground trunk (whip), is a scientific basis to study breeding, conservation and development is essential.
