VILLAGE MARKETS IN THE EAST OF CAO BANG PROVINCE BEFORE 1945

Abstract


The village markets in general and mountainous village markets in particular have a very important commercial role. The market is not only a place to trade goods in the area, but also a bridge between the mountains and the plains. With the use of historical and logical methods, combined with other methods, this study aims to introduce the characteristics of village markets in the east of Cao Bang province before 1945. Thereby, the article aims to reflect the life picture of Cao Bang people at that time. The research results show that through the process of formation and development, the traditional market in the East of Cao Bang still retains its role. The markets were a place that reflected not only the economic situation but also the cultural values of the people in the east of Cao Bang. The establishment of village markets network in Cao Bang contributed to breaking the closed, self-sufficient economy of the residents. The birth and development of village markets in the east of Cao Bang contributed to shortening the gap between ethnic groups here, bind them together to form a community united in diversity.
