PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR CHINESE - VIETNAMESE TRANSLATION TEXTBOOKS IN VIETNAM (INVESTIGATE IN SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES - TNU)

Three elements affecting learning and teaching processes are textbooks, teachers and learners. Currently, for the credit accumulation education in general, and for translation teaching and learning in particular, textbooks have played more important role than ever. Nonetheless, in many universities nation-wide, textbooks designed for Chinese – Vietnamese translation have been disunified in content, deficient in quality, and shortage in number. This paper is aimed at investigating and analyzing the status of designing and using the textbooks in Chinese – Vietnamese translation in Vietnam and in School of Foreign Languages especially, which then helps show off several following problems that provoked the writer to give out suggestions: Textbooks’ designers and editors; Basic theories and designing principles; designing supported media and translation linguistic material construction; The construction of different textbook for different level–based translation subjects.
