SOME MEASURES THAT NEED TO BE IMPLEMENTED TO ENHANCE STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN TERMS OF USING SINO – VIETNAMESE WORDS

Abstract

Sino – Vietnamese words, which are an important part of Vietnamese vocabulary, are the legacy after the process of languages - cultures exchanges between Vietnamese and Chinese during a long history. Understanding and using Sino - Vietnamese words correctly would contribute to maintaining the purity of Vietnamese. Enhancing the high schooler’ ability to use  Sino - Vietnamese words through Philology subject at high school is the most essensial and necessary part. This article recommends some methods that could help teachers instruct  Sino - Vietnamese words more effectively such as: teaching Sino - Vietnamese words in literature works comprehension, designing games, practical exercises, guiding students to look up necessary words and so on… Teachers should use these measures in a flexible manner, in accordance with pupils' cognitive level and specific teaching conditions.
