Abstract

Rot disease caused by the fungus Fusarium sp. affects the yield and quality of oranges. Tra On district, Vinh Long province, is one of many locations with a large Xoan orange growing area and suffers a lot of losses due to the fungus Fusarium sp. The study aimed to isolate Bacillus that have the ability to fight Fusarium sp. causes rot on Xoan oranges after harvest. Results of isolation of 14 strains of Bacillus from orange tree root zone soil. Investigation of the resistance ability was carried out using the method of antagonism of fungal mycelium and spores. As a result, 11/14 strains of Bacillus showed the ability to resist fungal strain C7, of which strain BDC4_V had the highest resistance ability of 38.85% and the diameter of the antifungal ring is 1.82 cm. Identification results showed that strain BDC4_V was 100% similar to strain B. cereus.
