A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS AMONG TELECOM MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES IN HA NOI, VIET NAM

This study assessed and compared the current competitiveness of the telecom manufacturing industry in Ha Noi across Viet Nam, ASEAN, ASIA and OECD in terms of Product, Human resources, Technology, and Capital and financial capacity through conducting a survey from 624 respondents. Among the respondents, there were 260 customers and 364 employees. The results indicated that the competitiveness of the telecommunications industry in Hanoi were rated good but average in terms of human resources, financial capacity, brand and market share. On the other hand, respondents rated the higher mean score for Vietnam than the other regions in terms of products, human resources, financial capacity, brand and market share, and technology. In general, respondents agreed that the telecommunications industry in Hanoi is more competitive than others. Additionally, the assessment process showed that the competitiveness of telecom companies in Hanoi compared to local companies is very good, but compared to other countries in the region, ASEAN countries were rated average and very weak compared to ASIA and OECD countries. Therefore, it is necessary to deploy and implement innovative solutions to improve the quality of its products in accordance with international standards and enhance competitiveness in the region and OECD countries.
