COMMUNITY TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN HA GIANG PROVINCE

Abstract


With the aim of improving the quality of community-based tourism products in Ha Giang province, the authors collected secondary data and interviewed 450 questionnaires as a basis for analyzing the development of community-based tourism in Ha Giang province in the period 2016 - 2020. The results show that: with the advantages in community-based tourism development, Ha Giang province has made positive changes providing tourism products to serve tourists such as: the number of accommodation and dining establishments increased in quantity and quality of facilities; increase tours/routes that focus on famous local sights; human resources for tourism increase rapidly in quantity and service quality; The infrastructure for tourism also has many positive trips… However, due to the short time of construction and development of tourism in the locality, the form of tourism relies on the local people, whose qualifications and skills aren’t people's understanding of tourism service provision is limited; The seasonality of Ha Giang tourism creates a shortage of places to eat and stay in the peak season... In addition, the strong impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the province's community tourism. Therefore, a number of solutions related to changing the mindset of tourism, diversifying products and forms of tourism... are proposed to develop tourism in Ha Giang province in the future.
