Xung đột giữa Nga – Ukraine đang diễn ra từ đầu thế kỷ XXI khá phức tạp vì thời điểm hiện tại vẫn chưa có một giải pháp hòa bình cho các bên. Nguyên nhân đằng sau cuộc xung đột này có nhiều cách giải thích khác khi đứng ở góc độ địa chính trị, dựa trên lý thuyết quan hệ quốc tế hay chính sách đối ngoại của Nga. Đáng chú ý nhất sự khác nhau về ý thức hệ dân tộc cũng như chủ nghĩa dân tộc đằng sau xung đột này vẫn chưa được nghiên cứu cụ thể. Chủ nghĩa dân tộc đã đóng một vai trò quan trọng và cắm chiếc rễ sâu rộng đằng sau quan hệ giữa hai quốc gia và nhất là khi nó đang được Nga sử dụng như một lá cờ để phục vụ cho mục đích chính trị, đảm bảo cho những lợi ích về an ninh. Dựa trên phương pháp lịch sử - logic và phân tích quan hệ quốc tế, nghiên cứu này sẽ làm rõ nguyên nhân đằng sau xung đột giữa Nga và Ukraine trong thế kỷ XXI. Bài viết sẽ phân tích xung đột Nga – Ukraine đầu thế kỷ XXI dưới góc nhìn chủ nghĩa dân tộc để bổ sung thêm tư liệu cho những nghiên cứu sau.
