Abstract

Life skills education for children is very important, affecting the process of forming a child's personality up to adulthood. Life skills education must be started at an early age, especially at the elementary age. This article analyzes the content of life skills education in a first-class Vietnamese textbook series - For Equality and Democracy in Education - to help clarify this important educational direction in Vietnamese schools in the near future. The results are obtained by synthesizing materials on psychology, Vietnamese teaching methods and in practice. The results of the article show that life skills education content helps students initially formulate and train necessary life skills necessary for their age; aware of good values in life, self-recognition, true self-esteem; know appropriate behavior in relationships; know how to live positively and proactively in all conditions and situations.
