MOTIVATIONAL FACTORS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF LECTURES AT UNIVESITIES OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION IN HA NOI, VIETNAM

This study was conduct to determine motivational factors on work performance of lecturers in 10 selected universities of economics and business administration in Ha Noi, Vietnam. With a preliminary view on situation of universities in motivating employees, and the lack of related studies in Hanoi, this research was undertaken to have an academic insight into the factors that can bring about job motivation for lecturers’ performance. Through a survey of 490 valid respondents, the results showed that work motivation is positively correlated to work performance of lecturers. Among 7 influential factors of motivation, Assessment have the greatest impact, followed by Income, Recognition of individual contributions, Colleagues, Superiors, Working Condition and finally Job Characteristics. The research results will help universities in orienting motivational solutions for meeting the demand of lecturers, enabling them to be more dedicated and committed to the universities and perform more effectively to accomplish the goals of the universities.
